Location

Witch's Rock Surf Camp is located ocean front in Tamarindo. As you enter town on the main road, look for us on the right, directly across from Economy Renta Car. Tamarindo's public beach parking lot directly borders WRSC to the south.

HOW TO GET THERE
To get here from the US, you want to fly into Liberia (airport code LIR). Liberia is less than an hour from Tamarindo and we offer free shuttle service on Saturdays. Delta, American, Continental, US Airways, and others offer flights to Liberia.  Your alternative to flying into Liberia is to fly into San Jose (airport code SJO) and take a 45 minute commuter flight. The Surf

There are multiple surf breaks to choose from in Tamarindo, with the best ones located directly in front of WRSC, which is widely known as Costa Rica's best surf learning beach. Very closeby are numerous other surfspots like Playa Grande and Playa Negra for example, which can be reached by boat or a short drive.

Accommodation

At Witch's Rock Surf Camp they offer you ocean front hotel rooms with Tamarindo's main surfing beach DIRECTLY IN FRONT. The rooms are great, the views are great, and even the price is great!

All rooms have air conditioning, pillow-top mattresses and high speed wireless internet. Enjoy the on-site restaurant and bar, "Joe's". Chill in the swimming pool as you watch the waves or one of Tamarindo's amazing sunsets.

Over time, Witch's Rock Surf Camp grew into a surf resort that is now complete, truly a dream come true for everyone.

Activities

They understand that you can't be surfing 24/hours day (trust me, they've tried...doesn't work). They've therefore taken the liberty of organizing a slew of activities to keep you (or your non-surfing friend) busy checking out some examples of what Costa Rica has to offer.

Live Music
They love music, it just goes with the surf camp vibe! Thats why Eat @ Joe's offers live music every night of the week at 7pm.
Canopy Tour
You've heard all about it, making it all the way to Costa Rica and not going on the canopy tour would be a sin! This is an amazing series of zip lines from tree top to tree top.
Horseback Riding
These trips take guests out of town and into the mountains (not on the beach) overlooking the Tamarindo Bay and are usually scheduled as a sunset trip, so make sure to bring your camera!
Animal Rescue Park
The animals in this refugee park are getting ready to move to their natural habitat. Featuring monkeys (you might get lucky and be able to touch the baby monkeys), deer, toucans, a butterfly garden, great souvenir store and much, much more.
Catamaran Sunset Sailing and Snorkeling
Take a tour along the coast of Costa Rica by catamaran. You trip includes appetizers, drinks, t-shirt, and snorkeling.
Rodeo
During the high season there are numerous rodeos in the Tamarindo area, normally scheduled on weekends and lasting 3 to 4 days. WRSC provides a shuttle for all guests wanting to attend.
Spanish Lessons
Would you like to learn some basic Spanish to get you through your trip and for any future trips back to Costa Rica? Once a week we offer basic Spanish lessons for new students and those who need to touch up their skills.
Volleyball and Soccer Games
Play on the beach in the sand right out in front of the camp! This is a great time to get in some extra exercise, make new friends, and have some fun in the sun.

Surf School

Whether you are just starting out or you've been surfing for your entire life, they have an instructional surf school package that will be perfect for you, beginner, intermediate or experienced... The lessons are held directly in front of the surf camp on Playa Tamarindo (widely known as Costa Rica's best learning beach). All of their surf instructors are ISA Certified and experienced lifeguards. They offer the best surf school program that you will find, with the added bonus that the water is warm and the surroundings are excellent!

The surf tours are intended for advanced surfers only and are, by far, the BEST WAY to surf Costa Rica! Why?
- Flying with surfboards is a pain in the ASS! Damaged boards and excessive airline handling fees are a thing of the past. Book a surf tour package and get one of the brand new Witch's Rock boards to ride while you're there.
- No rental car needed. They take you everywhere, ensuring that you don't get lost. We even pack your board on top of the van or in the boat so you don't have to (its called V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N)
- Surf the absolute best waves ever. They know the coast and they surf it every single day. They have mastered finding the best surf with any given swell direction, wind direction, and tide. You will do with them what simply cannot be done with a book or novice guide.
- Small tour sizes. No more than four guests per tour.
