Location

Swell Tours has their own Surf Lodge in Transkei, right at the waves. They organise surftours and will guide you all around South-Africa. Whatever tour you want to book, they can arrange it for you and guide you around Durban, the South Coast and the Wild Coast and wherever you want to go in South Africa ....

The Surf

The guides of Swell Tours are local South-Africans and they know where they can find the best waves. Jeffreys Bay is the most famous wave in the country, but actually the whole southafrican coastline has perfect breaks, you just have to know where to find them. Some are deserted and away from the crowds. Let them guide you and enjoy the waves of your life...

Accommodation

The Swell Tours Guest Lodge is built by the Xhosa people and looks straight into the eye of a perfect wave.

It sleeps 8 people comfortably and up to 10 or 11 people maximum in 2 rondavels - each with double beds and en-suite bathrooms (toilet & shower) & 2 dorm style rooms - each with 2 single beds.

There is a separate communal shower and a separate toilet and a communal kitchen with chill room.

The Wild Coast is Swell Tours main destination and for good reason!

The Wild Coast offers world class waves and beaches. When you are out in the Transkei Ocean you are surrounded by the real South-Africa with its strong culture, simple living and locals in high spirits. The untouched land makes for a picturesque view while surfing the waves of your life, chilling on the beach, fishing on the river or having sundowners on the river bank.

You will visit several surf breaks and secret beaches along the Wild Coast, including the well known 'Hole in the Wall'. You will also visit local craft markets and get a taste of some traditional dance and drumming. The Wild Coast is a Xhosa community made up of many tribes. You will experience the way the Xhosa people live and you can learn all about their culture and beliefs.

2 nights - South Coast - Aliwal Shoal Retreat

Durban's South coast boasts some of the best waves and beaches in Durban, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Here, you can take a Whale and Dolphin watching boat trip or visit the local Croc World. You will stay at the Aliwal Surf & Diving retreat just a few steps away from the beach where you will be surrounded by indigenous bush, vibrant bird life and visiting monkeys.

1 night - Durban - Surf 'n Dreams Backpackers + breakfast
Durban offers a great night life with excellent restaurants, pubs and clubs. You will stay in one of Durban's best backpackers and enjoy a nice breakfast, we will point you in the right direction and then let you do pretty much whatever you feel like for the night, whether it is climbing into bed after a great meal or finding out what Durban's night life is all about!

1 night - Imfolozi Game Reserve - tented camp
Imfolozi / Hluhluwe Game Reserve is the oldest reserve in South Africa and is the only under formal conservation in KwaZulu Natal where the Big 5 occur. We will take you on a game drive in the morning, have lunch out in the wild and then have a guided night drive to experience the Big 5 once the sun goes down.

You will stay in the tented camps in Imfolozi which are large, en-suite tents on stilts with a deck overlooking the wildlife.
