Overview

Location

The Togat Nusa Surf Retreat is located on Pitojat, which is part of the Mentawai Island chain and lies North West off the Sipora Island. The 12 hectare island has white sandy beaches, tropical rain forests with native orchids and a huge variety of birds.

It is situated on approximately 80 kms from the West coast of the mainland Sumatra in Indonesia.

The Surf

The Mentawai Islands are famous for the quality and consistency of the waves. Excellent conditions can be found all year around.

Within a short boat ride of the island a variety of great surf spots can be reached: like Iceland, Scarecrows, Telescopes, Suicides, Seven Palm and more...

Accommodation

The design of the 4 bungalows has been influenced by the traditional Mentawaian style. The use of materials like recycled timber and driftwood creates a cosy and comfortable ambiance.

The furniture is hand built and you will find special features like antique Dutch lamps,...integrated into the interior design.

All bungalows can accommodate 2 persons. They have fans and a private bathroom with hot water. The retreat caters for 8 guests maximum at the same time or groups up to 10 or more if there are non-surfers too.

Wireless internet is available in the bar/restaurant area at own expense.

A traditional dug out canoe powered by two 40 horsepower Yamaha engines will take you to and from the surf. The boat has a cooler with cool drinks and a large roof for sun protection.

BOATS:
A traditional dug out canoe with a large roof and padded seats with backrests will tranfer you to the surf at speeds of up to 20 knots. It's powered by a 2 x 40 horsepower Yamaha engine. It cuts smoother through the surf than a western style speedboat and has all the required safety gear and a cooler with cool drinks on board.

Bar & Restaurant

The bar is the centre piece of the resort also built out of driftwood and timber from the surrounding beaches offering great views of the waves and the ocean. The guests will gather there for meals and drinks. The bar serves several types of beers, spirits, cocktails and fresh fruit smoothies and closes at 12 pm.
Feel free to bring alcohol through duty free !

The Indonesian chef creates delicious meals with Asian and Western influence daily. Fresh local products are served including meat, fish, fruits and vegetables as well as home baked breads and pastries.

Water bottles can be refilled at the restaurant. The breakfast is available from early morning hours. Lunches and dinners are served in a buffet style.

For early birds there is cereal, fruit salad & toast available at the restaurant.

TRANSFER 

Transfers from and to Padang are with Speedboat K.M KORAIBI speedboat departs approx. at 6.30 am from Padang Harbour, arriving at the Resort around lunchtime. A brunch is provided on board, but breakfast before departure in your hotel is recommended. ( We need a copy of your ID up front, when you book, for the harbour clearance...)
Rate is $ 400 per guest

Best to arrive the night before your departure from Padang to the resort and spend a night in Padang on return too is adviced. This is the best way to make sure to get the speedboat transfer and return flight in time, we will take care of your hotel reservation if you like.

Day of arrival at Togat Nusa Retreat:
7 am departure from Padang
10-11 am arrival at Togat Nusa Retreat

Day of departure from Togat Nusa Retreat:
10 am departure at Togat Nusa Retreat (an early morning surf is an option ) 2 pm arrival in Padang ( a departure flight after 6 pm is an option )

Whole Island Packages are available for groups up to 10 (or more if you bring kids). Ask for a custom quote through the orange 'Reservation' button !

US$ 1000 DISCOUNT for accommodation only for groups of 8 guests.

Exchange Rates:
Exchange rate on US$ and AU$ is not that good on the island. Best bring Rupiah to pay locally. You should be able to exchange money on your way down in the airports, or our hostess can take you to Padang city if necessary.

Deposit & Payment:
A non-refundable deposit of US$ 500 per guest is due at the time of booking. Balance payment due 2 months before arrival.

Cancellation:
You must cancel within 60 days of your departure date. Deposits can be used towards a future trip ( within 2 years ).

Documents:
Passports must be valid for 6 months from date of departure. Residents of some nations need a visa !
