Location

The Rapa Nui Surf School is located in La Pared, the South of Fuerteventura on only 1 hour from the airport.

You can rent a car to get there or use their airport shuttle service ( 100 € for up to 4 people, go and return ). It’s advisable to rent a car to explore the beauties of the island though, you can easily book it yourself online or have Rapa Nui arrange it for you.

The Surf

The South of Fuerteventura is famous for the largest and most beautiful sandy beaches of the Canarian Islands and La Pared is one of the wave richest beaches in Europe and a perfect beach for beginners. There are a lot of point and reefbreaks for all levels.

“Punta de Salinas” is the biggest wave on the south east coast. The wave is a righthander that works with big swells from North-West to West or smaller swells from the South. Offshore in North-East to North-West winds. Works best at mid tide and when it’s big it becomes very powerful and produces good barrels.

You will be surprised how many undiscovered surf spots there are on the island. These reefs can have perfect waves when a northerly wind is blowing and you have a good size swell.

One of the famous righthander pointbraks is in Jandia and is working under three different conditions:

1. Strong North-East swell - producing gentle lefthanders.
2. Strong North-West swell.
3. Strong Southerly swell - producing powerful righthanders.

There are two peaks here, one at the end of the foot path with whale skeleton, the other in front of the light house (best with strong North-East wind-generated swell).

Accommodation

The Rapa Nui Surf School offers you 2 Surfvilla’s: Las Palmeras 1 and Las Palmeras 2, two freestanding villas, located in the valley of La Lajita on a hill with a magnificent view over the fishing village and the sea. They are ideal for couples and surfers that prefer peace and quiet, away from tourist centers.

Each villa consists of 220 m2 of usable space for up to 12 people with 5 bedrooms, each with private bath and a communal living room with adjoining dinning area and a kitchen. The main living area is connected with one of the ensuite bedrooms and the 4 additional bedrooms with private bathroom are accessible from the covered corridor.

The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, large fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, 4 ceramic hobs and an oven. A kitchen counter with bar stools is ideal for enjoying your breakfast. The lounge has a flatscreen TV and satelllite dish and there is WIFI for free in the whole villa. Bed linen and towels are provided.

On only 3,5 km from the surfvilla’s, you will find shops, pharmacies, banks, typical spanish bars and restaurants in Coata Calma.

Spotguiding tours are for those surfers who have already got first experiences in the green waves and don’t want to surf the white water waves anymore. If you’d like to surf as much waves as possible but you haven’t got a clue where they break, Rapa Nui will make sure you ride the best waves of the day…

An experienced guide will accompany you and choose the right spot according to your skills and will explain important information for each surf spot and you’ll also get valuable tips on surf techniques.

Surf Lessons

They offer daily beginners & intermediate courses all year. Highly motivated and trained surf instructors teach in small groups up to max. 8 students per course.

They will take you to the best surf spot(s) for the day and choose the right wave conditions for you, according to your skills.

One surf instruction unit lasts 4 hours.

They also offer you Stand-up Paddle Surfing.
Surfing with a board and a paddle has taken the surfing world by storm. Paddle Surfing adds a whole new dimension to riding waves or just exploring the coast. With a big fitness benefit, Paddle Surfing has plenty of people grabbing a paddle and learning a whole new way to play in the ocean.

The Team

Daniel is 23 years old and founder of Rapa Nui Surf School & Camps. He has discovered Fuerteventura a couple of years ago as his adoptive country. Being a passionate surfer he devotes his life to the sea and he knows all the surf spots on the Fuerteventura Island, like the back of his hand.

Andy is an old hand in the surf business and a partner that brings lots of innovative ideas along – which he puts directly into action with his endless energy. His passions on the water are long-boarding as well as short-boarding. That’s why he always needs to bring two boards.
