Overview

Location

The Ocean Studio's are located in the small village of La Gaulette, on the south-west coast of Mauritius, on walking distance to the town center. You are only a short drive away from more shops and restaurants and the beautiful white sandy beaches.

Far from a tourist village, La Gaulette (meaning 'The Bamboo Fishing Rod') is a very typical fisherman's village with some grocery stores and a few restaurants.

La Gaulette is the perfect place for a calm, get away break, close to everything and only 3 km to the surf.

The Surf

Mauritius is bestowed with some of the best kite surfing spots in the world among which is The One Eye spot, at Le Morne,just 3 kilometers away from the Ocean Studio's. There are training lessons available there, so that you can learn and practice kite surf to pump your adrenaline!

The One Eye Spot is a good golf surf spot too, but be prepared for a long 1 km paddle to the reef though, to find the shallow, fast, tubular right and the slightly longer but equally tubular left.

Tamarin, known from the famous Cult Movie ' The Forgotten Island of Santosha', is only a 15 minute drive away also, although the surf is not that consistent, it can be a perfect left-hander when it does break....

Accommodation

The Ocean Studio 3-floor building has 5 studios and a 2-bedroom apartment as follows:

- On the ground floor: *Studio "Marlin"* in a Beige color-scheme and *Studio "Sole"* in a green color-scheme,
- On the middle floor: *Studio "Salmon"* and *Studio "Bonito"* in a yellow color-scheme. They can communicate to be a 2-bedroom flat to sleep 4 people.
- On the top floor: *Studio "Tuna"* also in a Beige colour scheme and the *"Carp" 2-bedroom apartment* in a blue color scheme. Again, they can communicate to form a comfortable 3-bedroom apartment.

All accommodation in the building offers you these facilities:
- Spacious open plan bedroom-lounge with air conditioning,
- Bathroom with toilet,
- Kitchenette
- Balcony with sea view.
- WiFi internet connection
- LCD T.V sets with satellite channels.
- Maid service 6 days per week + renewal of bedsheets and towels

DOLPHIN WATCH TOUR
The 'Dolphin Dream' tour starts at 6.30 a.m (departure from La Gaulette) to finish at 13.30 p.m.?? First, you are brought to the Bay of Tamarin where flocks of dolphins will be there to greet you. Then, the next destination is the 'Aquarium', where, while snorkeling, you will discover a magical and lively-colored population beneath the sea.? Finally, you land at the Benitier Island, to enjoy a nice barbecue lunch.

KITE-, WIND- and GOLF SURF
Mauritius is bestowed with some of the best kitesurfing spots in the world, like The One Eye spot at Le Morne. There are training lessons available there, so that you can learn and practice kitesurfing! You can of course also windsurf at these spots and there are several golf surf spots in the area too, although the waves are not that consistent.

AIRPORT TRANSFER
Mr Ropsen can offer you a comfortable and stress-free transfer to and from the airport. You will be met at the Airport at arrivals by a driver with your name on a notice, to welcome you and the transfers are done in air conditioned vehicles ( cars or minibus ) The transfer takes about 1,5 hours.

SCOOTER & CAR RENTAL
Mr Ropsen has different categories of air-conditioned cars and 125 CC Scooters available.

TAXI SERVICES
There are taxi-services available for sight-seeing tours or pick-up for going surfing ...

Rates

Rates are the same the whole year through:

40 € * /night per studio, sleeping 2.
60 € * /night for the 2-bedroom apartment, sleeping 4.

* Bath towels, renewal of linen and laundry services included
