Location

Ocean Ferrel Surf camp is located on 2 minutes from the beach, which links Baleal to Ferrel village.

You will be near the nightlife areas, such as clubs and pub's and close to the center of town where you can find ATM's, bakeries and pharmacies.

The Surf

With a vast diversity of surf "spots", we have waves for everyone"s taste. On the north coast, from Peniche to Baleal, you can find the best waves to learn how to surf, while at the South Coast the waves are better for more experienced surfers.

The wave at Supertubos beach, for instance, is actually recognized internationally as one of the best in the world, being a beach-break with great power and with really deep tubes it is the place of choice of the best national and international surfers.

Accommodation

Ocean Ferrel Surf Camp offers you different types of accommodation, apartments, shared and private bedrooms.

All the prices are for shared accommodation in an area which includes two bedrooms with 2 bunk beds each, a kitchen and living room. Sleeping maximum 8 people.

For people who prefer a private bedroom, this is possible too and then you only share the communal kitchen and lounge. There are rooms for 4 and 2 people. Or you can rent an apartment privately too with your own bedroom and bathroom, kitchen and living area. Apartments are available for 6, 4 and 2 people.

In the garden, there is a social 'chill out' area with a traditional wooden oven and a barbecue for you to use

The accommodation also offers TV, bikes for free, Bath Towels, linen, laundry service, safe, Wifi, Skype phone, parking, reception and personal assistance.

All units are fitted with kitchen and there are no meals included. They do however organize bbq's. From 5 people it is possible to have meals included too.

Surf School

BEGINNERS CLASSES include:
Introduction to surf.
History of Surf.
Beach environment and presence of currents knowledge.
Different kind of waves and the best surfing techniques for each one of them.
Safety rules.
Learning to paddle, sit on and turn the board.
The duck-dive (diving under the wave with the board).
Standing on the board (take off), surfing the foam.
Priority rules in the water.
What's a surfboard?
Positioning to catch the waves.
The bottom turn.
Knowing how to mark a location on land in order to know where you are at sea.
Learning to stand on a surfboard.
Video and photo sessions.

INTERMEDIATE CLASSES include:
Introduction.
Verifying the students level of surf.
Revision of basic techniques.
Techniques for paddling and turning the surfboard (tricks, and details).
Priority rules.
What's a surfboard?
Distinguish from different kinds of waves and learn how to surf each one of them.
The bottom turn and its importance on achieving success riding a wave.
The importance of the body on a proper bottom-turn
The duck-dive (diving under the wave with the board)
Video and photo sessions.

VIDEO & PHOTO SESSIONS
With two video and photo sessions, you'll be able to see yourself surf and with your instructor commenting on your performance while you watch it, it gives you the chance to improve your surf techniques.
