Location

Khaya Zinza is perfectly located right on the famous Supertubes with views from all rooms, and you are on only a 2 minute walk from supermarket and shops.

The town of Jeffreys is friendly and world famous for the seashells that wash up on the beach with each high tide. Migrating whales, dolphins in the surf, and great beaches all add to the Jeffreys experience, the perfect location from which to explore South Africa, there is so much to see and do…

The Surf

Jeffreys Bay is a long right hand point made up of 5 different spots. On the outside is Magnatubes. When the swell is right this connects into Supertubes. It's called that for the simple reason that Supertubes it is hollow and allows the opportunity to set up for 3 or 4 barrels. The end section is Impossibles and the name says it all. The next peak is Tubes, not as long as Supers but certainly as hollow. Finally, the Point a gentler wave good for longboarding but still offering a great ride with some "go for it" sections. There are several other waves right in the area. Kitchen Windows downtown is fun and Alabatross can also provide some exciting sliders.

They have guides available for those who prefer guided surfing. Beginning to advanced surf instruction may also be arranged.

Accommodation

“The House of Balance” in Jeffreys Bay is the ultimate Beachfront Villa & Spa. For those who want a relaxing day, the Aqua Spa in town can provide massage and various other treatments. If you prefer they can also arrange for a masseuse to come to the house.

The 3 spacious bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, hairdryers, organic shampoos and soaps. All the little luxuries are carefully planned. There is a 1-bedroom flat too and in high season the house and flat are rented out together.

Surf for a couple of hours or go for a walk on the beach at sunrise and the chef will have breakfast ready. There is wifi in the house, so you can keep up with your emails or online work...

There is an outdoor shower (with dual heads) and the steambath awaits. A masseuse can come to the Spa room to help you relax after an active surfing day....

The house has an indoor board storage room and even a special wetsuit dryer !

Gather in the wave watch room on the mezzanine level in the evening and have a glass of wine by the fire as you watch the sun set and the surfers catch the last waves of the day.

Activities

While surfing is the main draw card for a trip to J Bay, South Africa, there are a number of other activities in the area. Jeffreys has for example a 9 hole golf course and a tennis club. High tide brings a new collection of sea shells to the beach and there is an interesting shell and surf museum in town. If you want to try your hand at sandboarding the dunes just outside of Jeffreys Bay offer some challenging hills.

The Eastern Cape is home to some great game reserves all within 2 hours drive. Addo Elephant Park is home to over 300 elephants. Both Shamwari and Lalibella offer 5 star accommodation and Big 5 game viewing in private Land Rovers. Even within 30 min drive you already have game parks that are worth viewing like The Lion Park, Kragga Kamma, Lombardini … Let Khaya Zinza organize your own personal African Safari... St. Francis provides an interesting day trip too, not only for the surf, but also just to enjoy this special little town with its whitewashed and thatched houses.

Capetown is a 6 hour drive. A truly dynamic waterfront city to explore. The vineyards that surround Capetown offer charm, great accommodation and dining. So not only the surf is great, there are also lots of other wonderful experiences just waiting for you in South-Africa.
