Overview

Location

Gajah Mina Resort is located on 55 Km from the Airport, 25 metres from the beach and only 10 minutes from the surf on the West coast of Bali. On about 1 km you have a small village with some basic shops....

A stroll toward the ocean leads to a small cape covered with thick alang - alang grasses, ending on a cliff from where the views extend towards both end of the island.

One of Gajah Mina two headlands is maintained as a protected area for the Water Monitor, a timid un-aggressive lizard which can grow to 1.7m in length. You can make wonderful walks on the 30 km long deserted beach.

The Surf

The Balian Break with two rights and one big left, is only a 10 minutes walk from Gajah Mina Resort. The beach at Balian sits on the West Coast and is one of the few places in Bali that offers clean waves all year round. The waves break at a rivermouth over smooth rocks and reef creating a consistent set up all year.

It's not uncommon for Balian to be a perfect 3-4ft while Kuta is dead flat. Balian is a very diverse wave and delivers quality surf from 2ft -10ft.

Of course there are lots of other surfspots nearby too....

Accommodation

Gajah Mina was designed by its French Owner to combine the ethnic characteristics of the Balinese cultural environment with a high level of comfort and sophistication.

Furnished with a wide variety of antiques sourced from throughout the Indonesia archipelago, the villas are fashioned from natural materials such as volcanic stone, teak, coconut wood and unpolished marble. Stained glass bedroom windows add a touch of romance.

Each villa discreetly nestles within its own walled garden offering views across rice paddies, palm fringed gardens and the rugged Balian beach coastline. Private veranda"s with loungers are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sea breeze and bask in the perfume of tropical flowers. A luxuriously appointed bathroom with outside garden shower complements each villa.

Villas are air-conditioned and offer you an electronic safe and child beds are available on request.

Facilities

Have breakfast in the romantic setting of the 27 meters long swimming pool, built around the shape of a rice terrace and highlighting the charm of the palm-filled horizon.

Then enjoy a sensuous and revitalizing Balinese massage. The Spa and Massage room is over looking the surf spot of Balian on one side, and on the other : the deserted Mejan beach. A wide selection of treatments, ranging from massage and body scrubs to wraps, facial and more.

Suite 1 is perfect if you have small children, with communicating bedrooms, a full equipped kitchen and outside lounge. In a wide tropical garden going down to the swimming pool and the sea.
Suite 9 is two separated bungalows with outside bathroom and a gazebo. In a beautiful garden on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean. Very private for people with teenage children.

Honeymoon Villa:
Suites 10 & 11 are each 1 bedroom villas with a spectacular 360° view. Two tropical wooden houses on top of a cliff overlooking 3 beaches: Balian beach, Gajah mina beach, Mejan beach and on the horizon the Bukit and Java island.
