Location
Imsouane is only a small fishing village of 1 by 1 kilometer. The BoardX House is located on the first row overlooking the ocean and the famous Imsouane Point in the Bay. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to the main peak.
Even the Cathédral beach is only a few minutes walking. All surfshops, stores and restaurants are situated around the Port, again very closeby. Auberge Tasra is a great place to have tasty local dinners, but make sure to book your seats and dish ahead. Here you can also find wine and beer, which is not easy to find locally.
Essaouira and Agadir are within easy reach from Imsouane, on about a 1,5 hours drive. To visit Marrakech, you should take a 4-5 hours trip in mind...
The Surf
The Imsouane Point break is one of the longest rights Morocco has to offer and works over a sandy bottom !!! On good days the 700m wave takes you all the way to the last beach of the bay.
The wave works best at low tide and shows the best of its skills during low spring tide. The spot needs really big swell to work at high tide. The wide N to ZW swell window picks up lots of available swell though. The waves wrap around the reef-like peninsula and enter the bay very clean. When other spots in this part of Morocco can’t handle the big and heavy NW swell, this bay is still surfable.
La Cathédrale is a westerly oriented bay which always catches a bit more swell but is less sheltered from the winds. The spot works best from early mid to early high tide and from dropping hightide to early low tide. This makes it a spot that works most of the time.
Accommodation
The BoardX Surf House is a brand new building with 3 spacious, modern apartments and a communal swimming pool on the roof for you to enjoy !
Each apartment has a balcony equipped with a BBQ, from where you have a view over the second bay with the beach break and the right hander point break called ‘La Cathedral’.
The 3 apartments are identical and offer 3 bedrooms each. This adds up to a total amount of 8 beds per unit. Each flat is equipped with a bathroom, shower, separate toilet, and fully equipped kitchen.
The kitchen and living room are open plan, opening up onto the balcony and views of the Immesouane Bay. In the basement each apartment offers you room to store about 20 boards.
