Overview

Location

Situated on the Pacific Coast of the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula, Santa Teresa is quickly becoming the new, hot-spot with the occasional celebrity sighting; yet it's one of the few locations in Costa that retains its authentic vibe. As you can imagine, the cool bars, phenomenal restaurants, white sand beaches and warm water only accent an already truly magical destination.

The Surf

The Billabong Girls Camp and Blue Surf Sanctuary is located right at Suck Rock, at the northern end of Santa Teresa in front of Roca Mar. This break works on a big swell from any direction. This wave is a great playground with long, right barrel rides.

There are lots of other surfspots in the area and they will take you to the best spot of the day..... some examples....

El Carmen beach break: An excellent wave for beginners. A long right wall and shorter left break section over a gradually sloping sand bottom. The wave is really fun and highly recommended, slow and long.

Santa Teresa beach break: A beach break similar to Playa Carmen, but with more hollow barrels and usually faster and steeper.? With a good swell, many different spots start to peak including La Lora and Roca Mar.

Playa Hermosa & Manzanillo - If you feel like exploring further, Playa Hermosa and Manzanillo, are a few miles north. Hermosa Beach break is the perfect location to score lonely barrels and Manzanillo Reef is about half mile outside the shore and holds really big swells.

Accommodation

Your week with Billabong will feature daily hands-on surf instruction and coaching, by Connie Arias, Billabong Team Rider, with an evening recap and planning for the next day's session.

Beyond that, the Mal Pais region has much to offer, you can hike the waterfalls, snorkel, ride horses, explore the tropical country side on quads, take a zip line canopy tour, participate in yoga classes, learn the art of the organic facial, or just chill by the pool. And, like any great girls getaway there will be spa services that can be ordered separately and performed in the comfort of your own bungalow.
